SemmleCode can be installed from the ZIP file available here. Download the ZIP file and unzip it in your Eclipse directory. Starting Eclipse will then automatically load the plugin.

If Eclipse was already running when you unzipped the file, you will need to restart Eclipse for the plugin to load.

If you encounter problems with the plugin when you installed it from a zip file, you may need to run Eclipse with the -clean option. The Eclipsepedia provides more detailed instructions on how to do this.

SemmleCode should now be set up for use on your machine. You can now proceed to the tutorial to learn how to run and write your own code queries.

By default SemmleCode uses an in-memory database. If you wish to have the full experience of SemmleCode, you may wish to install a more powerful database as SemmleCode's backend. Instructions on how to install a database for SemmleCode's use are available.
